Objectives
Alignment with the Vibrant Village Program: The Vibrant Village Program focuses on the development of border villages by improving infrastructure, connectivity, and livelihood opportunities. The Surya Devbhoomi Challenge will help highlight these efforts and attract vital attention and resources to these remote areas.
Promotion of Border Area Tourism: The event will draw tourists, athletes, and adventurers to these pristine, yet underexplored destinations, promoting eco-tourism and pilgrimage tourism.
Mitigating Reverse Migration and Encouraging Settlement in Remote Areas: The depopulation of remote villages due to a lack of opportunities is a critical issue. By boosting tourism and supporting local enterprises, this event will incentivize the return and resettlement of inhabitants, thereby revitalizing the region`s social and economic fabric.
Eco-Enhancement and Employment Generation: The influx of visitors and competitors will create a demand for local guides, homestays, culinary services, transport, and artisanal crafts, resulting in employment opportunities and financial prosperity for the local community.
Fostering Wellness and Promoting Sports Culture: Endurance sports contribute to both physical and mental well-being. The Surya Devbhoomi Challenge will serve as a platform to promote a strong fitness culture, while positioning Uttarakhand as a premier destination for adventure sports.
